Beautiful Mid-Century rug by Swedish designer Astrid Sampe. A brown and yellow rectangular shape in the middle is surrounded of stars and organic shapes in green, yellow and pink tones. Astrid Sampe was a prolific textile designer not only in Sweden but around the globe designing rugs for the United Nations and exhibitions both in the US, UK and Germany. This rug showes the organic influence the 1940/50s Swedish Modern design movement had with its softer tones and organic influences. In a very good condition with a few fringes un-down and with a slightly darker tone in color.
